2023-2024

Espanoleria with mezzo-soprano Fanny Lora

Originally planned for the 2020 season but postponed by the pandemic, Espanoleria is a celebration of Spanish song and culture, featuring the music of Joaquin Rodrigo, Federico Garcia Lorca, and Manuel de Falla. The duo completed a ten-concert tour with rave reviews.  You can hear the last concert of the tour here, which took place at Fivesparks in Harvard, MA on May 11, 2024.

“Classical Collective of Pepperell was delighted to welcome Fanny Lora and Dave McLellan to perform in the first season of its concert series! Fanny’s beautiful lyricism and storytelling kept the audience engaged and wanting more. Her singing of de Falla’s “Asturiana” was a high point of the evening. Dave McLellan’s guitar playing is as good as they come. His sensitivity to the music and in supporting Fanny’s voice was a marvel to behold.”

Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra with Paul Surapine

Saturday March 9, 2024. Artistic Director Paul Surapine conducted Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra in their "Latin Salsa Buffet" concert which included Dave McLellan as soloist for the Concerto #1 by Mario Castelnuvo-Tedesco.  See the concert video here by Milford Public Access TV

"Dave performed the Guitar Concerto #1 by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco with the orchestra.

He gave a wonderfully precise, delicate, lyrical and confident performance of the Castelnuovo-Tedesco.   It was a terrific and unique addition to our usual CHSO programming and a chance to hear and witness great classical guitar performance.

Dave was great to work with, very easy to follow, and totally on top of his concerto so we were able to just enjoy rehearsing and creating a beautiful performance together.

I would gladly work with Dave McLellan again, and highly recommend his collaborative skills and spirit to any organization seeking an outstanding guitarist."
